A great way to start the new year!

So I'm still just lying around. I am at least able to get myself up and walk around without much of a problem but I'm unable to sit for more than a few minutes at a time. Imagine my disappointment that I'm not able to continue working on all my UFO's. I've got the sewing itch and I can't do anything about it! So I decided that instead of leaving you all hanging I'd share a couple projects that I wasn't going to mention quite yet.

This first quilt is my very first quilt. Sort of. It's my very first quilting project...that I started 6 years ago and just recently finished. I pieced the top from a pile of scraps I picked up at the flea market on Oahu, HI. In fact, I picked up a couple of them. So I may need to do a little Hawaii revisit post a little later on. But I thought I'd share this one with you since I don't have much to post about right now and it was on my memory card!

Second up is another quilt that I started 5 years ago, and have yet to complete! In fact, I pieced the top after I purchased this little kit at JoAnn's 5 years ago, then I finally got around to making my sandwich and quilting it just a few days before my wonderfully dependable (TONS of sarcasm in that statement) went out on me again. I also decided to try my hand at the pebble pattern. Since it was my first time, it's not all that great. But I did enjoy it. It is time consuming and uses up a lot of thread, but I like the overall outcome, and I'm sure it would've been more awesome if I had remembered to put my feed dogs down. A habit I have yet to master.

  1. Love them both. I'll have to check out the pebble quilting pattern and try it myself. Get well my sweet girl.
