Swaps...

Hello friends! So after three weeks I finally dusted off the old stitching machine and got to work on some swap items I needed to get done. I marked those off the list today, so I thought I'd share them here so you all can see. I finished the last available season of Grey's on Netflix so naptimes are now spent in the sewing area. So here they are:

This first one is for the RATZ Style Swap Group (Rapid and Tiny Zakka). It's a monthly swap and this months theme is needlebooks. I did a little stalking and found out that my partner loves yellow, silhouettes, and weiner dogs. Okay okay, I know, it's not weiner, it's Dachshund, but weiner dog is fun to say. Hehehe! The silhouette part is the front, and the patchwork is the back. I also included a banana stick pin that I got from the sweetest gal, Christine, who sells the cutest stick pins in her shop.

This second one is for the Modernista swap. For each round of this swap the theme will change between different areas of the home. This round was for a sewing/crafting area. I made a mini quilt for my partner, and included a small little birdie that can double as a pin cushion or just a little friend to keep her company. I included a spool of Guterrmann thread and some buttons and some left over fabric I used for the mini. The linen gave me some trouble while quilting. Usually I just use spray adhesive but I wasn't sure how the linen would do with it, so I just decided to pin in. But it didn't work very well. So I did a very limited amount of quilting. It also took me a few times to get down the quilting pattern so I wouldn't have to pick up my needle after every petal, once I got it down, I really loved it, but because of the trouble, I only did three flowers.
