Mini's

A while ago I received a small envelope from Joanna of Fig Tree Quilts. It was a mini-charm pack from her Buttercup line that I had won during one of her giveaways. These things are tiny. Seriously. They are 2.5" squares. There's not much you can do with them. Make a pillow, make a place mat, etc. In early preparation for Christmas I intended to pull them out and make a couple Mug Rugs for my grandmother. But I loved the colors and patterns so much that I decided to make them stretch a little further than a couple Mug Rugs.
So I pulled out some white fabric and cut more 2.5" squares.
I decided to just start experimenting with blocks that I have seen and have been wanting to try. I cut a couple white squares down to 1.25" and made this block. I put a nickel on the center so you can see how little it really is.
Then I made some Half Square Triangles using Allison's tutorial she supplies on her site for her red triangles quilt. These little blocks make the possibilities for design almost endless. There's so much you can do with HST's.

  1. WOW! I am so impressed with what you are doing. You're my new hero! I can't wait to see what you do with the fun fabric I got for you in Houston.
