Seuss my stocking...

Favorite Project of 2012...

In my last post I mentioned that I've been working on a Dr. Seuss baby quilt for my soon-to-be-born nephew, Liam. I got a little side tracked the other day and decided to fussy cut some more characters and make a stocking...I've been on such a stocking making kick (they are soooo easy and soooo fast) and I've made about 12 already, but this one is my absolute favorite...I'm debating wether to keep it for my 18 month old, who also needs a stocking. We'll see...maybe if I have time, I'll make another one. :) I've been using the Merry pattern from Camille and then I followed Allison's tutorial on how to make and attach the cuff but using Camille's measurements from the pattern. Since the pattern only has illustrations for the stocking portion it was a little hard for me to wrap my head around attaching the cuff. I seriously read it over and over and I think the the more I tried to understand the dumber I got. Yes, I was that kid in school who preferred books with illustrations to understand the story. So for me, it was much more clear to see the process instead of trying to picture it in my head.

  5. Very cute. I vote you keep it, too. You have plenty of time to make the (not even born yet!) baby another one.

I just made my sister a Grinch stocking. Check it out at my blog (if you want).
