Pinspiration...

So I managed, without going completely crazy, to get my niece Baylee's quilt done today! You may have remember from THIS post that I mentioned making her quilt in.

A few months ago I had this quilt pinned on Pinterest.

I thought it would be a great quilt to make for my niece Baylee. Of course by the time I was done with the queen size quilt I finished recently, my body was tired from sitting at the sewing machine for hours. Then I left myself with absolutely no time to complete the birthday quilts. So now I'm hurting after spending all day TODAY (well, not all day, but nap times) getting that quilt put together. All the way from RECUTTING the hexies to be even on all sides, to appliqueing them on, sewing around them, sandwiching the quilt, quilting it, and putting the binding on. All the while having tons of issues with my sewing machine.

Now here is the finished project. This is my rendition of the quilt I pinned on pinterest. What'dya think?

This picture isn't the best. By the time I was done this evening the light wasn't all that great for taking pictures.  I will be RE-BLOGGING about this one with better pictures. Right now, I'm frustrated from fighting my sewing machine all day, fighting my 5 year old day, and fighting my computer all day. Issues issues issues. Anyway, have a great night!

  1. I'm dropping by as the guest judge on The CSI Project this week. Great job! I'm so envious of people who can sew. Love the colors you used for this.

    1. Thanks Erin! My niece really wanted greens and blues, and her mom wanted pinks and greens, so the Amy Butler Sould Blossoms that the designer used in the orginal quilt was the perfect fit! Good luck with the judging! I don't how you can pick from so many awesome projects!
